partly for you, more for me, i will now dissect the remainder of this year.

july – you know. work.
august – pack up, move.
september – move to orlando (i would use an exclamation point, but aside from the fact that i hate them, they would not do justice for how excited i truly am)
october – calcutta, india for 2 1/2 weeks (again, take not of the exclamation debacle)
november – usual? turn 19.
december – finish first semester.

2009 plans – traveling the U.S. with TOMS shoes, promoting and such. another country? maybe.

one of the things that i love the most about making lists such as these is that i have one made up for me already, by Someone who knows much more than I do.

we the kings.

today joelle and i decided that we’d go visit the ponce inlet lighthouse, something that neither one of us had done other than on field trips. it actually made me realize something about humans that might be even stranger than the fact that a quarter of a million people came to daytona to watch cars go around in a circle: that we came all the way to the lighthouse, like hundreds of people before us, to climb to the top, walk around in a circle, and go back down. we are incredibly strange.

christ’s love has moved me to such extremes. his love has the first and last word in everything we do. our firm decision is to work from this focused center: one man died for everyone. that puts everyone in the same boat. he included everyone in his death so that everyone could asl be included in his life, a resurrection life, a far better life than people ever lived on their own.

because of this decision we don’t evaluate people by what they have or how they look. we looked at the messiah that way once and got it all wrong, as you know. we certainly don’t look at him that way anymore. now we look insid, and what we see is that anyone united with the messiah gets a fresh start, is created new. the old life is gone; a new life burgeons!

all this comes from the God who settled the relationship between us and him, and then called us to settle our relationships with each other. God put the world square with himself through the messiah, giving the world a fresh start by offering forgiveness of sins.

God has given us the task of telling everyone what he is doing. we’re christ’s representatives. God uses us to persuade men and women to drop their differences and enter into God’s work of making things right between them.

we’re speaking for Christ himself now: become freinds with God; he’s already a friend with you.

how? you say. in christ. god put the wrong on him who never did anything wrong, so we could be put right with God.

[second corinthians 5:14-21]
